Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker
To me this product barely did anything. It has a thick jelly consistency but not heavy enough to be a gel. It gave me some moisture, but for a “gel” it gave no hold. When I used it to style my hair it made some parts of my hair stiff and hard. I have used this while doing a (failed) first time wash and go and it brought out my curls a bit, but did not minimize frizz at all. I was upset it did not work because it is very pricey and it also comes in a very nice bottle for use. I love bottles with pumps that let out product easily but I just didn’t like the product!
African Pride Olive Miracle Silky Smooth Edges
I gave this edge control many tries but it did not work. It was thick in consistency, but too thick. It was thicker than a gel, like a gelatin consistency and it was hard. It barely laid down my edges and I don’t even have much to lay down!
Palmers Coconut Oil Formula Strengthening Leave-In Conditioner
This leave in conditioner made my hair fee like straw, it was not moisturizing at all. Also the small spray nozzle was SO annoying and not useful. It let the product out in such small increments and it is hard to use a small spray nozzle when your hands are wet! (See my post on product packaging). It smelled good , like coconuts, but the smell was incredibly strong.
Cantu Shea butter Cleansing Cream Shampoo
I love the cantu brand so when they came out with a sulfate free shampoo I was eager to try. I tried to finish the bottle but I didn’t like it. It lathers really quickly but provided no slip or moisture. It made my hair very dry. However I tried this when it first came out, maybe the product has been made better!
Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque
So many people swear by this , so I decided to shell out my $19.99 and purchase this product. Huge mistake. I’ve used this with and without heat, and it does nothing for my hair except sit on top of it. It Is very thick and it smells good but it barely conditioned my hair much less deep conditioned. I gave up on it but I did mix it in with other deep conditioners to finish it. It had more use when I mixed it with another product. This is a reminder that even products that seem to work well for everyone else may not be for you!
Carols Daughter Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner
This conditioner made my hair very dry. I give this brand many chances , it was the first brand I remember breaking this natural hair movement. I got a sample of this and it threw my hair completely off. It’s like my hair couldn’t retain moisture after using this conditioner. My hair was very dry after and none of my styles would hold! When I traced it back this was the culprit.
